I am Republican. I realize the definition of that term has seemed to change over the last decade, but for me it is simple, I believe that the most amount good comes from a system that limits the amount of government in our daily lives, brings decision making power to the local level, ensures economic opportunity to everyone without prejudice, and upholds the Constitution. I hate crony capitalism as much as I do the idea of socialism, as both will stifle the ability for a prosperous economy with a thriving middle-class. But we must start by defining the role of government, then fix the problems from there.
In a nutshell, I fundamentally believe that people, at the local level, will make their lives a happier and more fulfilled one if they are allowed to have more control over it.
